Tabby McTat: Singing and Rhyming Cats on Stage

Why We Recommend it

Adapted from the children’s book of the same name, Tabby McTat is a rhyming story on friendship, loyalty, music and cats, aimed at children aged three and up.

Me, you and the old guitar. How perfectly, perfectly happy we are. MEEE-EW and the old guitar. How PURRRR-fectly happy we are!”

This family-friendly adventure on stage tells the story of Tabby McTat, Fred the guitar-playing busker’s cat. Tabby loves to sing as people throw coins in Fred’s hat. But one terrible day, Fred chases a thief – and the pair is separated. Will they ever sing songs together again?

Tabby McTat is created by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, the creative duo behind the acclaimed children’s book The Gruffalo. Produced by ABA production, the play will be performed in English and runs for approximately 55 minutes without interval.
