Tai Kwun Art Week 2026 Explores Bodily Experiences

Why We Recommend it
This year’s Tai Kwun Art Week features exhibitions and intense experimental performances, examining a range of bodily experiences across various media.
Description
Tai Kwun is back with the second iteration of its Art Week, bringing another round of exhibitions and experimental performances. Art After Hours: Beings in Motion on 28 March presents an intense programme, featuring works by three artists. The evening begins with Geumhyung Jeong choreographs a thrilling interactive performance in Fire Drill Scenario, in which audience members can move in and out of the venue and experience a range of special effects, through such crowd participation reflecting on the nature of live performances. This is followed by Justin Talplacido Shoulder’s Carrion, a haunting exploration of the relationship between human identity and the ecological world. Special ticket holders end the night with The Sensation Quintet by Tibetan Plateau post-rock band Tation, a performance merging music, experimental film, dance and performance art.
If visitors cannot make the evening, Geunhyung Jeong will host four other sessions of her performance over several days. Tai Kwun’s current exhibitions are also worth visiting. Notably, the second chapter of Stay Connected looks at Chinese art since 2008, examining how China’s role in global production has reshaped the human experience.
