The Hong Kong Sinfonietta presents a concert for little ones to learn about classical music in a playful way.
Description
This spring concert is organised for children aged 3 – 6 to learn more about how people and animals express their thoughts and feelings through the medium of classical music.
The programme is as follows: Respighi’s The Birds: Prelude & The Hen, Saint-Saëns’s The Carnival of the Animals: Hens and Cockerels, Leroy Anderson’s The Waltzing Cat, Leroy Anderson’s The Typewriter, Traditional/Ng Cheuk-yin arr’s If You’re Happy and You Know It, Elgar’s Salut d’Amour, Dvořák/Schmid arr’s Humoresque, Haydn’s Symphony No 45 in F-sharp minor,“Farewell”: Finale, Beethoven’s Symphony No 6 in F, “Pastorale”: Thunderstorm, and Johann Strauss Jr’s Thunder and Lightning Polka.
The concert is presented and conducted by Teresa Cheung. Cheung is the Music Director and Conductor of Altoona Symphony Orchestra, USA.
