Why We Recommend it
Hong Kong Dance Company partners with international artists to present original contemporary dance The Silence We Carry inspired by artist Wu Guanzhong.
Description
Inspired by the artistic philosophy of Wu Guanzhong, one of the most influential figures in twentieth-century art, The Silence We Carry by the Hong Kong Dance Company brings together international artists to present a multi-sensory performance.
The piece is directed and choreographed by “Xuannian Space” (Shi Xuan and Zhou Niannian), a creative duo active in China and Germany, exploring the dynamic relationships between the body, society and the natural world.
Paying tribute to the iconic lines in Wu Guanzhong’s work, the work boldly uses blue and white pipes as a stage motif, reimagining them as vivid, dynamic movements. Through the convergence of dance, painting, music, and imagery, the work invites audiences into the painter’s inner landscape to feel the rhythm of life and its deeper meanings.
