Sovereign Grid: Intersecting the Planetary and Personal

Why We Recommend it

The Sovereign Grid features four Hong Kong artists reimagining cartography through fluid, fractured and obscured forms.

Description

Following Memory Smuggler, The Sovereign Grid is To Art House’s second exhibition in the Quartet series. Developed during an extended residency, the show brings together new works by four Hong Kong artists — Rex Chan Hon‑biu, Natalie Chu Lok‑ting, Giraffe Leung Lok‑hei and Victor Sze Mok‑ham — each approaching cartography as a shifting, unstable language.

Across aquatic abstraction, kintsugi‑inflected repair, torn and pulped maps, and obscured digital loops, the exhibition explores the friction between measured space and lived experience. While Sovereignty moves between the planetary and the personal, 絕地 is the extreme terrain marking the point where legibility thins and terrain becomes unmapped. The works collectively form a layered topography that rethinks how place is drawn, held and imagined.

Pre-registration is required.
