A Miniature Take on Hong Kong Culture

Why We Recommend it

Hong Kong Story Walk – Miniature Hong Kong showcases local traditional trades and disappearing rituals in miniature models at House 1881.

Description

Hong Kong’s heritage and culture are explored in miniature form in an exhibition presented by TOMA Miniature, which works with local artists to highlight the city’s culture, rituals and festive traditions. Hong Kong Story Walk – Miniature Hong Kong features exquisitely detailed miniature replicas of various scenes and attractions, including the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, Piu Sik Parade, Cheung Chau Bun Festival, Hong Kong tea houses, cha kwo shops serving Hakka rice cakes, double decker trams and more.

The exhibition is accompanied by two interactive workshops. The Minibus Sign Writing Workshop gives participants a chance to create their own handwritten minibus sign. The Miniature Crafts Workshop creates a miniature replica of House 1881’s signature afternoon tea set as served at Café Parlour. All workshops carry a fee and must be booked in advance.
