Trees with Stories: Michael Kenna’s Pop Up Photography
Why We Recommend it
Influential black-and-white photographer Michael Kenna shares his brooding, philosophically-charged images of trees in a show curated by Blue Lotus Gallery.
Inspired by the ethereal beauty trees exude, British photographer Kenna brings to Hong Kong a collection of serene black-and-white stills, which he develops himself in his darkroom.
Preferring to capture enchanting landscape scenes devoid of people, Kenna typically uses a Hasselblad camera to create silver-gelatin prints, invoking meditative, at times gloom-laden and minimalist scenes.
Kenna will be present at the the gallery for a Q&A and book signing on July 22nd.
