Why We Recommend it
This vivacious contemporary ballet show, created by three of the most celebrated international choreographers of our time, will feature classic Beatles songs, jazz-infused dance and more.
Description
Presented by the Hong Kong Ballet, Wheeldon, Ratmansky, McIntyre and The Beatles is a historic triple-bill showcasing the charm and unlimited possibility of contemporary ballet.
The show will kick off with Christopher Wheeldon’s jazz-infused piece Rush, which visualises Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů’s spirited Sinfonietta La Jolla through the complexity of human bodies in motion.
Alexei Ratmansky’s colourful one-act ballet Le Carnaval des Animaux is a choreography renowned for its humour and acrobatic performances, featuring a whimsical menagerie of animals brought to life with leaping, balancing, spinning and clowning to Camille Saint-Saëns’ score.
The line-up concludes with Trey McIntyre’s exuberant rock ballet A Day in the Life set to a medley of twelve classic songs by the Beatles.
