Fukushima Fisherman (Japan, 2016), a documentary record of fishermen in Shinchi town, Fukushima, will be screened at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum as a part of HK SciFEST 2018.
Description
Filmmaker Toru Yamada has followed the lives of fishermen in Fukushima for three years since 2011. The result is Fukushima Fishermen, a poignant film showing how the fishermen are forced to self-restraint in livelihood fishery after the Great East Japan Earthquake followed the Tsunami attack and nuclear power plant accident.
Please note that the documentary is in Japanese and will be screened with Chinese subtitles.
