Why We Recommend it

Coinciding with Art Month, CHAT presents a vibrant programme that celebrates the rich intersections of textiles and arts, featuring dynamic exhibitions and events. This series of events will run from March 2025 to February 2026.

Description

As Art Month unfolds, CHAT presents a vibrant series of exhibitions and events that blend textiles, crafts, and art. One highlight is the participation in Art Basel Hong Kong with a solo exhibition by the Guangzhou-based artist collective BOLOHO from March 28 to 30. This exhibition showcases artworks created through a participatory project under CHAT’s Seed to Textile programme, where the public helped create natural dyes and collaged fabrics. Additionally, CHAT will host workshops and a talk featuring BOLOHO.

Lining Revealed – A Journey Through Folk Wisdom and Contemporary Vision, curated by Wang Weiwei, which explores the synergy between traditional folk crafts and contemporary art by 13 Asian artists, is on show until 13 July. Meanwhile, Artefacts of Motif highlights the evolution of the dragon motif from ancient China to modern times, also until 13 July. Elsewhere, Busy Needles: Textile Embellishments of Hong Kong delves into Hong Kong’s embroidery history, featuring iconic pieces like the Dior Spring/Summer 1998 “Floral Tattoo” gown, and will run until 22 February 2026.
