‘Remains’: First Hong Kong Solo Exhibition Alexandre Farto aka Vhils
Why We Recommend it
Inspired by Hong Kong, Portuguese artist Vhils’s new body of work resonates with the human experience of living in a contemporary megalopolis.
Vhils, aka Alexandre Farto, has become globally recognized for developing a unique visual poetry by creating murals using a singular carving technique that involves removing the surface layers of walls and other media with non-conventional tools.
Following the critically acclaimed institutional exhibitions of Vhils in 2016 in Hong Kong and 2017 in Beijing and Macau, ‘Remains’ will be the artist’s first gallery exhibition in Hong Kong, weaving a poetic tale of the city through the lens of his distinctive artistic lexicon.
