Voûte: Minds and Bodies in Motion

Why We Recommend it

Produced by Cirque du Corbak, Voûte explores inner conflict and human interaction through acrobatics, music and visual art.

Description

Produced by Cirque du Corbak and presented as part of French May 2026, Voûte is a work created by a collective from the 2024 graduating class of France’s National Centre for Circus Arts (CNAC). Blending acrobatics, contemporary dance, music and visual composition, it explores states of tension — within the self, between bodies and across a shared social space.

The performance brings together various CNAC-trained artists with distinct yet complementary practices. Antonin Cucinotta works with Chinese pole and acrobatic lifts, exploring balance and counterweight, while Marine Robquin combines contemporary dance and acrobatics with a focus on grounded movement and gesture. Together, they shape a performance language defined by collaboration, physical dialogue and close interaction.

Complementing Voûte, an artist residency sharing will take place at Tai Kwun’s Laundry Steps on 24 May at 15:00. Registration details will follow soon.
