West Bund Art and Design Comes to Hong Kong

Why We Recommend it

Originally from Shanghai, West Bund Art and Design comes to Hong Kong to present a range of works by artists across countries, genres and periods, including American conceptual artist Mel Bochner, and contemporary British artist Toby Ziegler.

Description

Established in 2014, West Bund Art & Design features more than 100 leading galleries from Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America at West Bund Art Center. The fair provides a platform for international exhibitors to showcase modern and contemporary art in Shanghai with exhibitions and art events offered by museums and galleries in the city.

This year, the art fair will come to Hong Kong with a selection of works. Some of the featured artists include American painter Sarah Crowner, known for her geometric abstractions that evoke the style of hard-edge painting of the 1950s and 60s; Bolivian American artist Donna Huanca; Polish artist Paulina Olowska, known for her works inspired by nostalgia and remembrance; Italian artist Claudio Parmiggiani, who uses powder, smoke, fire, soot, and ash to make imprints on paper and boards; and Jim Shaw, contemporary American artist whose eclectic practice mines the detritus of pop culture.
