A Two-Day Urban Photography Event with William Furniss

Why We Recommend it
A two-day pop-up exhibition of new photographic prints by Zolima contributor William Furniss offers a rare chance to see over 30 years of visual engagement with Hong Kong’s urban landscape.
Description
Photographer William Furniss will show new photographic prints in a two-day pop up exhibition on Friday 16 May, from 17:00 to 20:30 in Tin Wan, with an artist talk and studio sale the next day. The photographs of William Furniss reflect more than three decades of documenting Hong Kong’s architecture and street scenes, capturing the city’s dynamic and layered character through careful composition and light.
Known for a precise and considered approach, Furniss often uses pre-visualisation and camera-only techniques to create images that reveal the textures and rhythms of urban life. Furniss’ work has been exhibited internationally and is held in both private and public collections. He is recognised for large-format cityscapes and his ability to capture the complex interplay of light, structure, and human activity in Hong Kong. Furniss is also the author of Queen’s Road West, The Vanishing Neighbourhood.
Furniss is also a frequent contributor to Zolima CityMag, where his photographs document the changing urban fabric and cultural heritage of Hong Kong.
On Saturday 17 May, Furniss will deliver an artist talk at 11:00 in the morning, sharing insights into some favourite images from his long engagement with Hong Kong. This will be followed by a studio sale of prints until 17:00.
