Xu Longsen’s Shanshui Paintings

Description

Xu Longsen’s Misty Aura explores the complex evolution and symbolism of 20th-century Chinese shanshui (ink landscape) painting. This era saw a dynamic tension between traditional aesthetic values and modern artistic innovations influenced by Western abstraction and realism.

A leading contemporary artist known for reinterpreting traditional landscape painting with bold and poetic brushwork, Xu revives key virtues of Chinese painting — being forceful, unrestrained and open-hearted — that had faded over centuries. His monumental works channel nature’s grandeur and historical depth, breathing new life into classical ink painting.

The artist will be present at Hanart TZ‘s exhibition opening on 4 October from 14:00 to 16:00.
