Description
Comic Fun for All: The Magic of Hong Kong Comedy Comics explores the evolution of Hong Kong comics through the 20th and 21st centuries, with five thematic zones featuring notable characters such as Old Master Q, My Boy, and Sau Sing Chai.
A Comics Reading Zone displays a selection of works from different decades, sourced from the Hong Kong Public Libraries. Interactive installations and photo spots provide visitors with varied ways to engage with Hong Kong’s comic heritage.
The exhibition is supported by a series of free special programmes conducted mainly in Cantonese. These include talks by veteran comic artists on the history of Hong Kong comics, curator-led tours and workshops on caricature drawing, comic creation, and animation dubbing.
Film screenings of local comic adaptations such as My Life as McDull and Master Q 2001 are also scheduled, with post-screening discussions to explore their cultural significance.
Open until 9 March 2026 at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the exhibition and its related programmes offer multiple opportunities to learn about Hong Kong comics and their role in local culture.
