Youn Sun Nah and Bojan Z: Where Jazz Worlds Meet

Why We Recommend it
Youn Sun Nah and Bojan Z bring a lively jazz dialogue to Hong Kong, blending Korean lyricism with Balkan-influenced piano.
Description
As part of Le French May 2026, the stage is set for Youn Sun Nah alongside pianist Bojan Zulfikarpašić (known professionally as Bojan Z), fusing two artists in contemporary jazz. Their collaboration unfolds as a fluid exchange — her voice drifting between restraint and intensity, his piano weaving melody with unexpected textures. Framed by a distinctly European sensibility, the programme moves across moods and traditions.
Born in Seoul and trained in France, Nah has built an international reputation for her stylistic range, moving between jazz, chanson, rock and classical styles. A recipient of France’s Officier des Arts et des Lettres, her work balances technical precision with emotional depth. Zulfikarpašić, a Serbian-born, Paris-based pianist, is known for integrating Balkan influences into jazz, alongside classical, rock and blues elements. As a duo, they form a dialogue shaped by a shared instinct for musical exploration.
On 1 May, the performance will begin at 20:00.
