Description
Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 returns, reaffirming the city’s role as a global art hub. Featuring 240 galleries from 41 countries and territories, the fair introduces fresh perspectives through Encounters, Kabinett and the Asia debut of Zero 10.
Under Mami Kataoka — director of the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo — Encounters explores the Five Elements through 12 large-scale works, while sound artist Christine Sun Kim’s “A String of Echo Traps” transforms Pacific Place into a site of sound and motion. Kabinett presents 35 focused thematic presentations, from Judy Chicago’s radiant glass lightboxes to multimedia artist Dinh Q. Lê’s poignant installation, Damaged Gene. Following its launch at Art Basel Miami Beach, Zero 10 offers a timely platform for digital innovation, featuring new experiments with AI, blockchain and virtual media.
Beyond the fairgrounds, the citywide Public Programme expands access through film, talks, and cross-disciplinary collaborations, including Artists’ Night at Tai Kwun and dance excerpts by Hong Kong Ballet.
