KidsFest! 2026 Brings Five Productions to HKAPA Stage

Why We Recommend it
KidsFest! will make its return to Hong Kong in 2026, presenting five immersive theatre adaptations of beloved children’s books from 14 January to 15 February.
Description
KidsFest! 2026 transforms classic children’s literature into immersive, educational theatre for young audiences. Running 14 January to 15 February at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts’ Rita Tong Liu Drama Theatre, the festival features five world-class productions drawn from beloved children’s books.
Highlights include the Hong Kong debut of The 91-Storey Treehouse (14–18 January, ages 6+), where Andy, Terry and Jill tackle chaotic babysitting amid a whirlpools, desert island and giant spider; and Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book (11–15 February, ages 3+), a puppetry-filled journey through nested stories celebrating reading’s magic. Returning favourites — The Gruffalo’s Child (21–25 January), The Koala Who Could (28 January–1 February) and The Very Hungry Caterpillar (4–8 February) — complete the lineup. Each show runs for around 60 minutes without an interval.
ABA Productions launched KidsFest! in 2012 as a month-long celebration of world-class theatre for young people. With offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and the United Kingdom, the company produces the festival in Hong Kong and Singapore.
